July 14 News and Updates

New Volunteer Training!
Our new building transition is right around the corner! We are thrilled to have the opportunity to grow and develop our children's ministry in this brand new space. One of the ways we are growing our ministry is by creating more classes so that we can cater to each child's developmental level more effectively. This restructuring means that we have tons of new and exciting volunteer roles! We won't be able to pull this off without your help. If you've been on the fence about jumping in to volunteer, now's your chance! We would love to work with you to determine the perfect role and equip you fulfill that calling. Join us on Thursday, July 20 from 6-8pm to hear more about our mission, vision, strategy and how you fit into it all! If you've got questions feel free to contact us

Love Your Child Well
If you're familiar with the 5 Love Languages, you know that different people feel and accept love in different ways. You may be able to identify some of your child's love-language-leanings, but this is an awesome article about how many children experience love. It breaks down some of the science and psychology behind the live-giving power of physical touch. Whether or not you're naturally inclined to touch, it makes a huge difference in how your child experiences affection now and throughout their lives. Making sure to hug them each day, pat them on the head as you walk by or put your arm around them on the couch can help them know that your love is real and tangible.

Feed My Starving Children Event
We have an awesome opportunity for you and your family to serve together! On Saturday, July 29 from 9-11:30am, Mountain Park will be taking over the Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) facility in Mesa! FMSC is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s children, hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children. The meals are shipped to nearly 70 countries around the world! Packing sessions are fun for the whole family, but please note that volunteers must be at least 5-years-old, children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. All volunteers must wear long pants, shirts with sleeves and closed-toe shoes. We've only got a set number of spots, so register your family here
